The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis and Minister of Finance, Timothy Harris, delivered a “tax-free Budget” on December 12, 2019.

The territory’s news agency reported the Budget featured no new taxes for the fifth consecutive year.

More details of specific measures will be available when the Budget legislation, The Appropriation (2020) Bill, 2019, is published online.

In his Budget speech, Harris said the Government is focused on bringing the jurisdiction’s debt to within 19.5 percent of GDP and supporting digital economy activities in the territory in 2020.

Harris said: “The prospects are very good for continued growth and development of our twin island Federation. Such good tidings also bring confidence that we would be able to implement our plans for 2020 without the introduction of new taxes.”
